  • About me

It seemed appropriate to describe where I’m journeying from, which might help make some sense of the stuff to come….

I’ve been following Jesus since 1974, making my choice alone in the back garden of my parents house. This for me has always been an important factor, as I made the choice without any human pressure, in the cold light of day, and have only had myself to blame since (only kidding!)

I’ve been involved in various forms of church, and other Christian groupings alongside, to the present day, from a Church of England start through a couple of housechurches to now, being a part of LifeLine church in London.

I’ve been very fortunate to have been exposed to the lives of some remarkable people along the way (something that I’ve only begun to understand fairly recently), most of whom have a common set of traits. These range from a strong commitment to relationships and building whatever they’re doing relationally, a willingness to step beyond conventional norms of doing things, and above all a deep love for Jesus that permeates every aspect of their lives.

Their combined influences have led me inexorably into being very involved in cross church relational unity things, mainly in north London but further afield as well. Particularly of late this has taken the form of seeking to see the dreams and visions of ordinary Christians released to impact their communities in cross congregational initiatives. This latter phase has proved to be the most challenging, as it has involved dying to a lot of my previous understandings and personal visions, and seeking to try and serve and empower people to go for what God has given them to be and to do.

I am incredibly blessed to be married to Kim, and to have three absolutely wonderful daughters, Amy, Anna and Abby. We live in the second most friendly street in the country (results of a poll taken by Radio 5 Live at Christmas 2006, beaten by somewhere in Yorkshire!) and have a whole load of brilliant neighbours and friends.

I’ve an abiding interest (some would say obsession) with most things technological. I have far too many devices of one kind or another accrued over the years, with an accompanying mania for synchronising as many of them together as possible (I think it stems from losing a filofax many years ago….). I’ve been a musician for many years, and have recently developed a deep love for classical music to sit with a fairly eclectic range of modern tastes and styles.

I work 3/5ths of my time for a Further Education college (mainly 16-18 year olds) being responsible for IT systems and e-learning development (which is increasingly draining out of me any interest in computers at home). The remaining 2/5ths is spent on encouraging dreams and visions and relational unity across the borough of Haringey where I live.
